Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading and most prestigious teaching hospitals, is seeking an exceptional Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Cross Sectional/Oncological Imaging. This is a full-time (10 PA) fixed-term position for 12 months. This presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic radiology team and contribute to the continued excellence of our diagnostic and imaging services.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services, contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs), and supporting acute and outpatient imaging pathways. Responsibilities will include:

  • Oncological imaging support and MDT participation. • Acute imaging, including emergency CT and MRI spine reporting. • Teaching and training of radiology trainees and allied healthcare professionals. • Engagement in research, service development, and quality improvement initiatives. • Participation in on call rota will be discussed with the successful applicant • Evening and weekend working to support service requirements

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The postholder will be required to work across multiple sites as determined by the senior management team and service requirements. The role consists of 10 programmed activities, including:

  • Clinical duties as outlined above
  • Teaching and training radiology registrars, clinical fellows, medical students, and allied health professionals
  • Participation in leadership, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities as part of Supporting Professional Activities (SPA)
  • Contribution to the on-call rota and potential evening and weekend working to support service needs
