The post is comprised of 8.75 programmed activities (PAs), of which 7 provide direct clinical care (DCC) and 1.75 are for supporting professional activities (SPAs). The post is split between two of the Moorfields sites; City Road and Ealing. The proposed job plan is detailed below, however may be subject to change in response to the demand of the service over time. The weekly service teaching also takes place at City Road.
The post involves participation in the joint MEH/GOSH Paediatric on-call rota.
The post is available from July 2025 for a fixed term period of 12 months.
Applicants are required to hold FRCOphth, or equivalent, and be registered with the General Medical Council. Fellowship training in Strabismus and Paediatric ophthalmology is essential and formal teaching experience would be advantageous.

The City Road sessions include Adult Strabismus clinics, Paediatric casualty and an alternate week surgical list. The Ealing sessions include a weekly all-day Paediatric and Adult Strabismus clinic. The post-holder will work closely with local orthoptic, optometry, nursing and administrative teams to provide a comprehensive outpatient service to diverse populations within Northwest and North Central London.
