Locum Consultant Non-Interventional Cardiologist

Job overview

This will be a 4-month fixed term contract from 1st July to 30th October. The successful applicant will join a team of eleven consultant cardiologists at Frimley Park Hospital, including those with subspecialist expertise in heart failure, imaging, complex devices, electrophysiology and coronary intervention. Frimley Park Hospital is a primary PCI centre and the cardiology department has an inpatient zone of 30 beds, including a 10-bed CCU. The hospital is part of Frimley Health NHS Trust. This job is based at Frimley Park Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities of the post-holder: Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinics, cardiology in-reach into ED and AMU, referral triage, and depending on the applicant’s expertise, lists in stress echo, TOE or cardiac MRI. There is a 1 in 11 consultant of the week rota for covering CCU, the cardiology stepdown ward and inpatient cardiology referrals. Participation in the weekend non-invasive cardiology on-call (on-site) occurs on a 1 in 6 basis, 8 am to 2 pm.
