This is a Fixed term post for 6 months.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon, with sub-specialty interest in skin cancer to join the team within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Plastic Surgery Unit. The Plastic Surgery Unit currently has 27 Consultants and provides the entire spectrum of plastic and reconstructive subspecialty services excluding craniofacial surgery and has a large workload of general plastic surgery. This Unit is internationally recognised and runs a variety of teaching courses every year.
This post would be directed at supporting the skin cancer excision and reconstruction. Candidates should have experience in the management of benign and malignant skin lesions, including Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, Nodal dissections and extensive experience in skin lesion excision and reconstruction. The successful candidate would have a clearly defined job plan with Plastic Surgery.
The successful candidate will be based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI), and will have a clearly defined elective job plan.
Applicants must have full GMC Registration and a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training
