Job summary

Main duties of the job

This locum post is offered on a part time (8 PA) basis and is to provide cover for one of the existing consultants in paediatric dentistry who is going on maternity leave. The locum appointee would support the existing consultant and specialist in paediatric dentistry to deliver paediatric dentistry level 3 complexity care as well as to support the existing consultant develop the service. The appointee would be involved in providing training in paediatric dentistry for foundation, core, and specialty trainees as well as existing nursing and dental staff. The post holder will demonstrate clinical leadership in the care of children and young people, within the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust Community Dental Service (MYTTCDS) in conjunction with the existing Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry. This will include children and young people with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, mental health problems, medically compromised, severe anxiety, phobias, and traumatic dental injuries.
