London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an outstanding Locum Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) to join our expanding and ambitious cross-site Critical Care Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of London’s busiest and most dynamic acute Trusts, serving a diverse population of almost one million people across Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond.

This post is ideal for a motivated intensivist seeking a clinical and leadership role within a forward-thinking department with strong ambitions in service development, education, research and governance.

Main duties of the job

The role

The successful candidate will join a large, experienced and collegiate consultant body and will contribute to:

  • Consultant-led multidisciplinary ICU care across both sites
  • participation in a 24/7 resident-supported on-call rota
  • critical care outreach and PACU cover
  • leadership in governance, audit and quality improvement
  • undergraduate and postgraduate education
  • departmental and Trust-wide service development initiatives
  • research and innovation activity

Applicants with an additional specialist interest are welcomed. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of:

  • echocardiography / focused intensive care ultrasound
  • education and simulation
  • research / clinical trials
  • governance / mortality review / QI
  • digital healthcare / EHR optimisation
  • organ donation / transplantation pathways
  • perioperative medicine / enhanced care
  • trauma / neurocritical care / vascular critical care
  • Strong speciality interests particularly in Anaesthetics
