Applications are invited for the full time post of Locum Consultant in Emergency General Surgery with Biliary interest based within the Division of Surgery at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS FT.

This post will work across Weston, BRI and NBT sites including on call at 2 of the sites. It is initially a 12 months fixed term contract but the post is intended to be extended as part of ongoing service development

Main duties of the job

We are one of the UK’s leading Upper GI centres with an international reputation for healthcare research. This post is designed to support the delivery of the specialist benign UGI and Emergency General Surgery service. It is expected that the successful appointee will have a particular interest in biliary.

The post-holder will also have responsibilities to develop and contribute to continuing education, professional development, audit and research within the Division and Trust.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or equivalent or within 6 months of attaining Specialist Registration at the time of interview. Applications from candidates who, for personal reasons, are unable to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for this post.
