This post is for a fixed-term Locum consultant appointment for a 12-month interim period prior to a substantive appointment taking over the post.
The post is targeted to, but not limited to, applicants who have a particular speciality interest in Pelvic Floor disorders/complex pelvic cancers / Inflammatory bowel disease.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.
All consultants, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.
The appointee will be a member of the Consultant Staff Committee and be expected to serve on this committee.
All future senior medical and dental appointments will be expected to work in collaboration across the Group and, irrespective of initial job description and job plan, be willing to work on more than one hospital site, dependent on service needs. Service location may change as our future models of care are developed by our clinically led networks through our acute clinical strategy. Some of the clinical procedures or services the appointee will be expected to deliver may be based at sites other than their primary site of employment.
