We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a 10 session Locum Consultant Gynaecologist, subspecialising in urogynaecology.  This is a replacement post joining a team of 21 Consultants responsible for the provision of O&G services at Singleton Hospital within Swansea Bay University Health Board

Main duties of the job

To provide, along with other consultant colleagues (as appropriate), a service in the specialty to the hospitals so designated, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and promotion of health.

To have continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge (as appropriate) in liaison with consultant colleagues and for the proper functioning of the department in line with the Operational Policy and Strategic Plan (as amended from time to time).

Working with consultant colleagues and the multi-professional team you will have continuing responsibility for the well-being of all patients under your care; allowing for proper delegation to, and training of staff. In partnership with clinical and managerial colleagues, you will also have responsibility for the safe, efficient, and effective functioning of the services in which you work, in line with the values, operational policies and the Annual Plan of the Health Board. You are encouraged to consider how services can be improved and to report any concerns about safety through quality improvement methodology.
