We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates to join the Intensive Care teams at OUH as a locum post. Oxford Critical Care covers the general ITU at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospital sites covering a total of 34 beds. We provide a large a range of secondary and tertiary services, including major trauma and support for our transplant, vascular and oncology services. You will be joining a well established but friendly department with a diverse range of interests and sub specialties. No specific additional skill set is required for this application. However, enthusiasm and a demonstrated excellence in teaching (particularly advanced ultrasound), management or research will be viewed positively in an application.

Adult critical care services are provided by the Oxford University Hospitals Trust at the John Radcliffe Hospital site (General, Neurosciences and Cardiac) and the Churchill Hospital site (General, Transplant, Haematology). This post is for a consultant to work in the General Critical Care service at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals, providing direct care of admissions, leading ward rounds and consultations on critically ill inpatients on wards and the emergency department.
The General Critical Care Service currently consists of a 26 bedded unit at the John Radcliffe site (of which 22 beds are routinely open) and an 8 bedded unit at the Churchill site. At the John Radcliffe the service is split over 2 floors – a 10 bedded floor and a second floor with 16 physical bed spaces with up to 12 in use at anytime. The service is currently expanding and key to this is the Consultant led referral service which runs Monday to Friday with a plan to extend this to 7 days a week. It is the ambition of the service to take part in a comprehensive Outreach service.
