Main duties of the job

The Directorate provides health services for children in Wirral from bases at Arrowe Park Hospital and the Child Development Offices at St Catherine’s Health Centre, Birkenhead.  Child Health Services are rapidly evolving in response to the challenges of the changing needs of children in the 21st century. The Directorate works in partnership with Local Authority colleagues in developing children’s services in line with government policy.

The ethos of the Directorate is to work to provide a service that is child and family centred in conjunction with Education, Social Services and Child & Adolescent Mental Health.   We are committed to a process of continuing development and adaptation driven by the needs of children locally and to exploring and pioneering new ways of improving the health opportunities of Wirral children.  The department is open to using the skills and abilities of medical, nursing and allied professions unfettered by traditional demarcations.
