Job summary

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be caring for patients with Urology malignancies.

The post will be mainly based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, with an outpatient clinic in the Alexandra Hospital which is one of our peripheral hospital sites.

Main duties will include:

  • Provision of a comprehensive oncology service, including new patient and follow up clinics at Worcester and one of our peripheral sites.
  • Provision of emergency cover, including ward rounds on rotational basis (currently one in ten weeks)
  • Support cover for consultant colleagues during periods of leave on a shared basis.
  • Contribution to the continuous development of our service
  • Undertaking teaching/training activities to meet continuous professional development standards and support the best environment to our trainees (formal and informal).
  • Participating in audits and actively contributing to matters concerning clinical governance.
  • Taking on a leadership role within the department, our organisation or wider NHS structures to contribute to delivering best outcomes and experience to our patients.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is a large acute and specialised hospital trust that provides a range of local acute services to the residents of Worcestershire and more specialised services to a larger population in Herefordshire and beyond.
