Although this is a service appointment, all FY1 doctors will have the opportunity to participate in the foundation training programme run by the hospital and you would be fully supported should you wish to complete the same competences as our F1s in training posts.
You will be assigned an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for the length of the post. Regular assessments will follow the model laid down in the National Curriculum for the Foundation Years in Postgraduate Education and Training.
You will be expected to participate in the day-to-day provision of routine and emergency medical care to a level appropriate to the Foundation Year 1 under the supervision of a senior member of the department.
The successful candidate will liaise with nursing, medical and Para-medical staff to ensure smooth running of the service and will be expected to keep senior colleagues informed and seek advice as and when necessary.
