An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours) Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS) to join the Health and Safety Team within Worcestershire Acute NHS Trusts. The role is to ensure we have a safe and secure environment for our staff and patients. This role is not confined to being a security role but one that also requires collaboration and support to our clinical areas that are affected by violence and aggression from e.g. patients who may or may not have capacity. A balanced, practical and supportive response is required to manage these challenging situations.
The LSMS will support the Trust Head of H&S in ensuring that all statutory duties of a Local Security Management Specialist are fulfilled. This will include acting as the Trusts security expert, which includes developing and implementing the Trusts Security Strategy and other relevant policies. The post holder will ensure the LSMS service is developed and delivered to the highest professional standards, is legally compliant and adheres to NHS guidance on Security Management. The post holder will provide specialist advice and support on security and conflict resolution matters to all staff and ensure that appropriate training is developed and provided. This role extends to assisting with the implementation of the Violence Prevention Reduction Standard. This requires an individual who is empathetic and can investigate and support staff affected by incidents of violence and aggression whilst continually assessing new processes and methodologies to assist in making the workplace safe for our staff and patients. The post holder will be required to be a link between other key stakeholders (e.g. police, mental health teams) and attend sensitive meetings with regards to action and improvements.
