Locum Resident Doctor (General Medicine/A&E) (Ref: 241870)
Full-Time – 40 hours per week
Fixed term from August 2026
Opportunities available for 6 or 12 month posts
£49,217 to £65,112 per annum (pro rata), plus banding supplement
This post also attracts a relocation allowance (up to £4,000 for a 12 month post) and
Distant Islands Allowance of £2,578 per annum (pro rata)
Based at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick, this post would suit doctors who have just completed FY2 training and are considering a medical career or a core medical trainee waiting for a StR position. Alternatively a doctor interested in a future career in general practice waiting for a StR position/a GP trainee who had completed training but who wished further medical/A&E experience. Full GMC registration with a current licence to practice is essential for these roles.
