Job summary

Main duties of the job

To deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered professional) with a focus on promoting patient centered healthcare and promote independence.

Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values

Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual

Work collaboratively with the team around them to develop own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills.

By the end of the apprenticeship develop the ability to work without direct supervision and deliver care independently

Key responsibilities include;

  • supporting patients with daily activities such as washing, dressing and eating
  • maintain patients privacy and dignity
  • monitor and record basic observations
  • assist nursing staff with clinical duties
  • communicate effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team
