We are looking to recruit an experienced Band 6 Leg Ulcer Nurse for 0.6wte (3 days a week) who is passionate to support our new, proactive Specialist Leg ulcer service across Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. This role requires a nurse with a broad knowledge of leg ulcer assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The applicant must be a car driver with the ability to travel between clinic sites.
The post carries responsibility for providing clinical support to the leg ulcer service, ensuring a high standard of care is given in conjunction with the clinical leads and team. The post holder will ensure that a high standard of leg ulcer care is achieved and maintained.
This role will support the clinical leads in delivering a specialist leg ulcer service within east and north Hertfordshire. They will support primary care, community nursing and nursing homes with specialist leg ulcer assessment and management.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required, in addition to patient involvement, service management and development. The successful candidate will also be involved in the teaching, education and training of others in the management of leg ulcers working alongside the lymphoedema and tissue viability specialist nursing teams.
