This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated pharmacy technician to play a vital role in the safe and effective delivery of aseptic and pharmacy services. The postholder will lead on Health and Safety within the Pharmacy Department, act as the departmental COSHH and Medical Gases lead, and support the provision of a high-quality aseptic medicines service. Working closely with the Lead Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician for Aseptic Services, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining compliance with Trust governance, audit, and quality assurance standards. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with leadership, training, and service development responsibilities within a supportive and forward-thinking pharmacy team.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of aseptic medicine supply services, acting as an accuracy checking technician for the final release of licensed and outsourced products. They will contribute to the maintenance and review of aseptic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, and quality improvement actions following external audits. As the Pharmacy Department’s Health and Safety Lead, they will ensure compliance with Trust policies, oversee COSHH documentation, conduct safety audits, and promote a culture of wellbeing and continuous improvement. The role also includes acting as Pharmacy Lead for Medical Gases, ensuring adherence to HTM 02-01, MHRA, and Trust standards, and coordinating safe management, training, and audit activities. Additionally, the postholder will deliver Health and Safety and COSHH training, support governance and quality assurance processes, and contribute to service development, education, and compliance with professional and legal requirements.
