An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 experienced clinical pharmacist to join South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust as a lead pharmacist in informatics. The job will be split between informatics and clinical work
You will be one of the Trusts Informatics lead pharmacists, responsible for all aspects of technical configuration and clinical content that relate to medicines management within Meditech/Expanse Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system.
These are new posts to expand the team. The Trust is currently working towards the implementation of a significant upgrade to the current system; therefore, this is an exciting time to join the team.
You will have evidence of effective service delivery at a specialist pharmacist level, post-graduate study to diploma level, well-developed clinical pharmacy skills in an acute medical or surgical specialty with a prescribing qualification and evidence of advanced clinical skills development and an interest in informatics. The Pharmacy Service operates a seven day clinical service with routine support of both junior pharmacists and integrated medicines management technicians.
The role will include
responsibility for the ongoing build and testing of the Meditech/Expanse EPMA system.
responsible for ensuring the safe and effective implementation and operation of EPMA software Trust-wide, using a range of specialist pharmacy and IT skills and knowledge.
responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of training plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all pharmacy staff required to use Meditech/Expanse
Working clinically on the wards or in clinics to support the Pharmacy clinical service
