An exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Oncology dietitian to join our Cancer and Palliative Care Dietetic team, to cover a maternity leave. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to co-lead the CAPC dietetic service alongside our other Band 7 CAPC Team Lead. The role will include the management of both inpatients and outpatients from curative, surgical and palliative pathways as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard Dietetic service to Cancer and Palliative Care patients and health care professionals providing support to them.
To ensure appropriate resources and develop these where required to support patients within oncology, haematology and palliative care services.
To maintain an agreed dietetic case load of oncology and haematology patients, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations. To formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, as a highly specialist autonomous practitioner.
To undertake line manager duties for the team.
To work alongside the AHP Urgent Care Manager, Respiratory, Surgery and Critical Care Therapy Lead, and the Dietetic Professional Lead, in planning, co-coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service.
To be instrumental in the on-going development of services and practices that provide high quality care and interventions within Cancer and Palliative Care.
