The Lead Chaplain is responsible for ensuring that the Team delivers excellent direct support to patients, clients, carers and staff across the Trust. The Chaplaincy support offer is the provision of pastoral, spiritual and religious care, will need to flex to meet demand,and best practice must be evidenced through its delivery.
You will work with your line manager to influence and develop the exact shape of your role; keyduties include:
Strategy & Development. Agreeing with Line Manager (Director of Corporate Affairs/Executive Lead for EDI) the strategy and development trajectory for chaplaincy services.
Hands-on, front line service delivery. Essential for your own professional accreditation, this will need to be in cooperation with colleagues, to ensure that the Team's service delivery covers Inpatient Services (Platform 1); Staff (Platform 2); Community Services (Platform 3); and Private Sector (Platform 4).
Chaplaincy Representation. Need to be visible across the Trust. Need to carefully select which groups / meetings / conversations will help to achieve this goal.
Budgeting. Engagement in budget setting to best support overall strategy and service offer development. Analysing variances and making adjustments to spend;
Team Management. e.g. Ensuring Team members are receiving monthly supervision, clinical supervision (as agreed), are up-to-date with mandatory training, and that Annual Leave and TOIL are within acceptable parameters.
