Main duties of the job

As a senior clinician, you will play a pivotal part in driving service quality, clinical excellence, and patient outcomes. This is a chance to influence how MSK care is delivered, while working within a supportive, forward thinking multidisciplinary environment.

In this dual clinical and operational leadership role, you will: •    Lead and support the smooth running of MSK clinics •    Ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of key performance indicators •    Work closely with management colleagues to review and benchmark the current service •    Shape and recommend a future service model that enhances clinical quality and improves patient outcomes

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Acts as lead APP within MSK taking an expert lead role using expert knowledge and skills, in the assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal (MSK) and orthopaedic presentations.  To lead relevant clinic within MSK service without Consultant supervision. Some remote working may be considered.

To work as an expert autonomous practitioner in an advanced clinical position. Responsible for triaging musculoskeletal referrals, and for the advanced assessment including referral for appropriate investigations, to accurately diagnose, and then plan further management and treatment of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. Refer / book for defined operative procedures and support the surgical waiting list

Responsible for managing orthopaedic MSK pathway. To monitor and address capacity to meet demand within service, both short term e.g. balancing clinic capacity, and long term e.g. succession planning in line with KPIs and RTT

To provide clinical leadership within the Orthopaedic / MSk Clinics to Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners providing high standards of evidence based clinical practice

Lead clinical pathway improvements across the system.
