The Centre for Reproductive Medicine helps patients, who are struggling to conceive, to achieve their dream of becoming parents. We are seeking a friendly, hardworking, flexible laboratory administrator to join our laboratory administration team (please note that this role is administrative in nature and is not based within the laboratory).
The job mainly is to provide administrative support to the Embryology and Andrology Laboratories within the Centre for Reproductive Medicine. Please note that this is an administrative role rather than scientific and is not based within the laboratory area.
The hours are 15 hours per week over 3 days with half an hour unpaid lunch break each day:
Mon/Weds/Fri: 0930 - 1500

1. Collection of data from patient notes, interpreting clinical information and identifying the clinical details to input. Collate and Input information accurately and to the agreed deadlines liaising with staff within internal departments on matters relating to the collection, validation and amending of data.
2. Deal with all incoming telephone calls for patients requesting appointments for semen analysis and booking appointments as required.
3. Gather and interpret information from a variety of sources both internally and externally and identify the relevant data to input.
4. Inputting semen analysis results following detailed analysis by the laboratory staff in a timely manner.
5. Analyse clinical information from patient`s notes.
6. Identify incorrect data and advise relevant individual and obtain correct data.
7. Identify all outstanding data items required for computer input and liase with the appropriate internal departments and external organisations to obtain the relevant information.

1. Prioritise all incoming workload in line with agreed departmental standards
2. Carry out administration tasks such as photocopying, filing, ensuring that correspondence is filed correctly, maintaining manual records, distribution of reports in a timely manner.
3. Act as a witness to the Scientists, checking and recording identifying patient information, during the preparation of specimens for treatment.
4. Assist in carrying out audit procedures on stored patient specimens.
5. Cover the work of other Input staff during periods of absence or peak workloads.
6. Assist in the preparation of paperwork and patient notes ahead of the weekly treatment planning meeting.
7. Undertake any other tasks relevant to the post as required in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.
