Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Band 6

Vascular Enhanced Care Unit

12 month secondment 34.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated band 6 Junior Sister/charge nurse to join Laurel 1 Vascular enhanced care. The successful candidateMUSThave vascular enhanced care experience and you will be expected to work clinically within the unit.

The successful candidate will be dynamic and looking to develop themselves within the leadership role within the established team. They will be passionate about providing a high standard of care to patients. Full understanding of Vascular Enhanced care is essential to this role .

Training and development requirements will be identified at appointment and a bespoke induction programme will be tailored to meet the needs of the individual with support from the ward manager and matron.

Main duties of the job

  • To work according to the NMC Code and relevant professional guidelines and frameworks. To ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, carers and the multidisciplinary team. To participate in preceptorship programmes as appropriate and act as a facilitator, mentor, preceptor, role model to less experienced staff To provide supervision, support and education to junior staff, unqualified staff and students. Develop, lead and manage a patient centred nursing service delivered by professional staff ensuring the highest possible standards of care To deputise for the Departmental Manager in her or his absence. To manage and develop new clinics and staff working within the area. Contribute significantly towards the strategic and operational development of the Unit.Support the Departmental Manger in the recruitment and selection process of nursing staff Support the Departmental Manager in the monitoring of sickness absence
