We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and hardworking doctor to join our Neonatal Department as Junior Specialist doctor at MMUH, Birmingham. This post will be six months in the first instance starting from 6th of May 2025 with the possibility of longer term opportunities within the Trust subject to performance, progress and vacancies. These posts would be at aimed at junior grade ST1-3 level and whilst not approved training posts we would mirror the training opportunities to those given to training post holders

The JSD Neonate post will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive Neonates environment, giving you wide ranging clinical exposure and training in a progressive Trust that has won numerous national and local awards. We would be keen to work with successful applicants and help you continue to build your Neonatal Career. We envisage that the JSD would act as a stepping stone into specialty training and we would look to encourage and fully support successful completion of paediatric exams. The successful candidates will have foundation year training or equivalent and an interest in General Pediatrics and Neonates, full GMC Registration with a license to practice. Recent experience in Paediatrics or neonates is desirable. Knowledge of the workings of the NHS is preferable.
The Trust has a very good reputation for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching with strong links to the University of Birmingham and Health Education West Midlands. The Trust is home to a number of University departments and we are now looking to develop research capacity in a number of specialties in the Trust including Emergency Medicine so there is likely to be opportunities to become involved in research activities. There is a clinical skills laboratory on the Acute Medical Unit which is the first in the UK.

Due to our central location and good motorway connections we are in easy reach of a number of beautiful rural locations including the Peak District, Cannock Chase, the Lickey Hills and the Cotswolds.
