An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trust’s Performance and Information Team for a Junior Information Analyst to play a key role in supporting the organisation’s data analytics and reporting functions. Working within the Performance and Information team, the post holder is responsible for supporting the development of dashboards, visualisations, and statutory returns to enable evidence-based decision-making across clinical and managerial teams. Main duties of the job

In this role, you’ll take ownership of ensuring the timely submission of mandatory external returns and internal reports. You’ll work with a variety of data tools, including SQL, Tableau, and SSRS, so we’re seeking someone who learns quickly and enjoys solving complex logic challenges.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Develop and produce external mandatory returns to an agreed timetable.
  • Support on the development of data quality monitoring tools and techniques to support the accurate reporting of all internal and external reports.
  • Develop data feeds into the Data Warehouse and dashboards/visualisations for use by relevant Trust staff using Tableau software.
  • Contribute to the provision of a high quality information analysis service for all areas within the Trust interpreting and analysing data, providing clear, accurate and timely reports to managers, clinicians and other Trust staff.
  • Undertake work with senior clinicians and managers to support the development of strategic plans for the provision and development of information analysis within directorates.
  • Develop processes for converting extracted data into national and locally defined data sets.
  • Provide timely support to senior colleagues within the Information Management team in fulfilling data requests.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data outputs by validating queries and logic against trusted sources (e.g., dashboards, reference datasets). Take ownership of initial checks and apply sound judgment to identify when issues require escalation to senior team members for further review.
  • Attend and contribute to in-person team meetings to facilitate team knowledge sharing and foster individual professional development.
  • Assist senior Information Management colleagues to interpret and action new statutory information requirements.
  • Identify data quality issues and implement data management or reporting solutions.
  • Attend data quality and performance review meetings with service managers providing expert advice on data standards and information issues.
