Job overview

This is a Junior Clinical Fellow (FY2/3 or ST1/2) to replace a current gap in service provision for six months, with possible extension to 1 year. It would be ideally suited to someone who has completed FY2 and is looking for additional experience in O&G before applying for specialist training. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi–disciplinary team providing and further developing care for women in Maternity & gynaecology. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department. The post will be predominantly based at the Denmark Hill site of Kings College Hospital with a small number of shifts at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington. The proposed timetable is attached. Further cross site working to encourage full integration of the departments may be required in the future. The On-Call commitment is for an average 1:5.5 rota. The post-holder will be expected to take part equally with other trainee in such a rota with EWTD with prospective cover. As a junior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients. Although the post is not recognised by the Royal College of Gynaecologist as training posts, they offer excellent educational opportunities and the successful applicant will be given the same educational opportunities.
