Main duties of the job

The Asset and Procurement Manager is a key role in supporting the Trust in managing and supporting Digital assets. Having responsibility for the purchasing of all IT assets needed by the Trust, including hardware (computers, servers, network equipment, etc.) and software (licenses, subscriptions, applications), ensuring adherence  policies and guidelines.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the effective utilisation of IT resources, compliance with policies and regulations, the optimisation of IT asset lifecycle, and support managing cyber security. The IT Asset Manager will collaborate with various teams within the IT department and across the Trust to achieve these goals.

Embed standards in processes and procedures for effective procurement and IT asset management ensuring that it provides a ‘fit for purpose’ configuration management database (CMDB) for the Trust.  The key deliverable is providing a single source of truth that is accurate and up-to-date as IT asset management is critical to supporting ITIL processes, including change, incident, and problem management. Enabling the entire Trust to get more innovative and deliver value more quickly with the right data at their fingertips and predict the impact of changes before they happen. This role requires a combination of technical skills, customer care, and business awareness, having the ability to communicate to staff at all levels in the Trust.
