Applications are invited to apply for a Clinical Fellow (ST3+) / Medical Training Initiative (MTI) role with an interest in Respiratory Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is 18 month Fixed term contract, under the Medical Training Initiative Scheme.

As a Medical Training Initiative post, please note only applicants without GMC registration are eligible to apply for this role.

The post holder will be contracted as a Clinical Fellow / Medical Training Initiative (MTI) role with an interest in Respiratory Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Candidates must meet all eligibility criteria for the Royal Collage Medical Training Initiative prior to application.

Main duties of the job

Clinical work

  • The successful candidate will be responsible to work under the supervision of the Respiratory Consultants.  He/she will be expected to participate in most of the day-to-day activities of the department in cooperation with the rest of the medical staff.
  • To provide outpatient Respiratory clinics seeing both new and follow up patients, ensuring all patients have an appropriate treatment plan. This includes completing relevant administrative duties.
  • To provide non-elective inpatient care including assessments and reviews of patients on the Respiratory wards to who present to Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS FT.
  • The post holder will support with Bronchoscopy and EBUS lists.
  • Attendance at specialist MDTs.
  • Other commitments, by arrangement tailored to an individual’s training requirements, to make up the 40 core hours
  • Provide Respiratory support via ward referrals and consults to patients requiring Respiratory inpatient input across MKUH.

An interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and delivery of undergraduate curriculum for University of Buckingham Medical School will be expected, encouraged and duly supported through SPA activity.
