INIR Physicist

This permanent position is an exciting opportunity for a talented clinical scientist to join the  MRI & US Physics team at Barts Health. Applicants who are Trainee Clinical Scientists and are expected to complete their training in a reasonable time frame are encouraged to apply.

We support the Radiology MRI & US services, and are composed of four other full-time MR physicists, one US physicist and two specialist INIR STP trainees.

Main duties of the job

This post is joint role (MRI & Ultrasound Physics). The candidate would support the MRI team in Safety, Protocol Development, Research and Translation and will work with the existing US physics team and Clinical Engineering team in developing and implementing clinical governance procedures in Ultrasound, and associated aspects of the clinical service. These roles will be at both at our Trust and those with which we have service agreements.    Barts Clinical Physics takes an active role in the STP scheme and the post-holder will actively participate in providing INIR training at Barts Health, and will be encouraged to actively pursue their own research interests.

Although a Band 7 post, we would be prepared to offer the post at Band 6 to a successful candidate who is yet to attain state registration, but will do so in a reasonable time frame.
