Job overview

We are seeking to recruit 2 Information Governance Support Officers to join the Trust's busy Information Governance team for a fixed term period of 6 months. We are looking for candidates who have effective interpersonal, administrative and communication skills and a working knowledge of data protection and information governance. The successful candidate will work with the wider Information Governance team to advise and support Trust colleagues in matters relating to data protection, confidentiality, information governance, information rights and records management.

Main duties of the job

To support the Information Governance Team in the delivery of an effective service ensuring the Trust's regulatory and statutory obligations are being met in relation to internal policies, procedures and data protection legislation.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To carry out tasks and maintaining responsibilities in support of the IG team and in relation to -

  • Training & Education provision, compliance and resource development
  • TNA & Report Provision
  • Project Support & Advice
  • Data Protection Officer (DPO) Audits
  • Incident Investigation Low Level Incidents
  • Data Flow Mapping
  • Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Information Asset Risk Assessments
  • Information Asset Owner (IAO) Advice & Support
  • Liaison with IT Security & Compliance regarding queries
  • Leaflets, posters, publicity
  • Support in the preparation of evidence for the Data Security and Protection Toolkit
  • Support the delivery of information rights and records management related tasks

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
