An opportunity has arisen for a senior project manager to support Radiology.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to be responsible for set projects affecting Radiology and associated departments across Cardiff and Vale UHB sites.

The primary project this role will be responsible for supporting is Radiology Information System Procurement (RISP) and its’ implementation into Cardiff and Vale UHB. The RISP project considers the migration and installation of a new Radiology Information System and PACS solution. PACS is a highly complex computerised system designed to store, display and distribute the results of the clinical radiology service, allowing images to be available at the point of need, 24 hours a day for clinical use. A variety of sophisticated imaging modalities are interfaced with the system, and the system is used by departments and services across the UHB.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the RISP project, acting as a point of contract and liaison with the clinical services, A&C services, PACS team and Directorate management team facilitating the deployment, migration and integration of the new systems. The post holder should expect to aid and co-ordinate practical operations elements such as equipment deployment and training organisation, as well as other elements of the project such as the financial impact. The project manager will be viewed as the local expert and lead all issues relating to and affecting the RISP project and advise the Directorate management team accordingly.

The post holder will be expected to support a wide range of projects throughout it's duration, this may include but not limited to, the development and maintenance of operational policies and procedures, system development and auditing, liaison with clinical users, external stakeholders and third-party suppliers, analysis and presentation of data, service improvement and design.
