An exciting opportunity has become available for a Duty Manager to join the team at Tollgate Emergency Operations Centre.
The successful applicant will contribute to the operational and strategic objectives of the Trust, through the efficient and cost effective management of activities with the Emergency Operations Centre, and if required, within a designated area of the county.
Applicants must be EMD qualified and must be willing to undertake any training deemed necessary for the role. You must have experience in monitoring subordinate staff performance and carrying out appraisals along with having a minimum of 2 years Ambulance Control experience.
If this position involves a regulated activity it will require an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. The disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children, adults or both
Where a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for the post, all applicants are required to cover the cost of the check. The cost of £42.50 for an enhanced check is payable to our online provider at the time that the DBS application is submitted. Upon receipt of your DBS you will then be required to sign up to the DBS online update service.
The deployment, motivation, supervision and control of Operations Centre staff, under the direction of the Head of EOC and in close liaison with other Operational Managers.
The generation of activity-related reports and statistical information as required on a regular and on an ad-hoc basis, primarily from computerised systems.
Ensure, on behalf of the Head of EOC and in co-operation with other Operational Managers, the satisfactory maintenance and development of all Control and Communication equipment and systems, including data input.
As required, the deployment, motivation and control of Emergency Operations Centre staff, through Senior Operations Assistant personnel, in order to ensure the provision of a high quality service.
Liaison with the Training Department to maintain standards of performance through on-going staff appraisal, consistent clinical audit and the prompt identification of training needs.
With due regard to Health and Safety and other related legislation, ensure that Trust property, premises and vehicles are maintained in good condition at all times, and notwithstanding operational constraints, ensure as far as is practicable the physical security of those assets.
Liaise with line management and the Human Resource function as appropriate to oversee all staff related issues including communication, grievance and discipline, health, safety and welfare, preparation of rotas, recording and management of sickness absence and annual leave, and the accurate and timely compilation of payroll documentation.
Monitor and control all expenditure with budgeted levels, preparing reports and statistical information as required.
Promote the Service and its activities within the area, liaising with other Emergency Services, Health Care staff, media and members of the public as necessary.
To undertake any other duties as may be required which are commensurate with the designation of the post
