An exciting opportunity has arisen for a successful candidate to join our Facilities team within Housekeeping Services at Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
The role of Supervisor will support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering housekeeping and linen room services to National Standards for Cleaning in NHS Wales, HIW standard 5 and Organisational assisting in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices, supporting the Facilities Unit commitment to the EQMS framework and helping to maintain open, effective communication.
The post holder is responsible for training/supervising and providing professional guidance to housekeeping and linen room staff to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to. In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all staff are appropriately trained.
To act as a liaison point between ward/departmental managers and the housekeeping service to ensure the highest possible service delivery.
To respond immediately to cleaning requests from the Infection Prevention and Control team.
Maintaining a high standard of environmental cleanliness
Carrying out housekeeping, cleaning and service associated semi skilled duties, e.g. curtain changes, removal and cleaning of fixtures and fittings, linen.
Attend to and maintain patient/customer service
Carry out and monitor Housekeeping, cleanliness and service associated semi skilled duties that are to be routinely carried out in accordance with the Health Board Housekeeping standard operating and roles and responsibilities for cleaning procedure of which standards are subject to regular audit.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
