We’re looking for new recruits to join Royal Bournemouth Hospital Housekeeping Department.

If you are interested in working in a healthcare setting as part of our housekeeping team you will be working closely with colleagues at #TeamUHD to keep our hospital clean, safe and infection free. We have opportunities across our Bournemouth Hospital including our brand new BEACH building opening in early 2025.

We will be offering hospital tours, chat to colleagues about the role and what to expect working in the Housekeeping Team.

We will be offering interviews with our team on the day, and you could be walking away with a job offer.

We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - therefore, we offer shifts across weekdays, weekends, nights, and bank holidays. We can offer contracts from have 16 hours to 37.5 hours per week.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To clean rooms – bedded areas, kitchens, offices, wards and departments, to include infected areas (Infection Control driven Terminal Cleans and Barrier Cleans).
  • To clean furniture, fixtures and fittings.
  • To clean toilets and washrooms and replenish the supplies – soap/toilet rolls/hand towels/hand gels.
  • Clean floors – damp mopping/dry mopping/vacuuming and using scrubber driers.
  • Clean glass/mirrors.
  • To empty bins and remove clinical and household waste including cardboard.
  • Spot clean walls, doors, floors and partitions.
  • Remove soiled linen – change curtains.
  • Maintain good hand hygiene at all times to avoid cross contamination.
