Job overview

Are you an organised and motivated individual seeking an opportunity to work within a busy maternity service?

Our maternity unit here at NNUH is seeking a housekeeper to join the friendly and hardworking team. No two days are the same; our maternity service provides care for approximately 4800 deliveries per year.

We are looking to appoint someone to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday based on the Delivery Suite.

Our values of People Focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence- PRIDE- are important to us and here’s how they relate to our work and to this role:

  • As a busy unit, our patients are at the heart of everything we do and being focused on delivering the quality of care that our service users expect is vital in this role. From time to time, you will have direct contact with service users and their families and being able to meet their needs with a smile and a friendly greeting will help make their stay with us much better.
  • You will work as part of a busy team, and respect and integrity are an essential part of the ethos of working together that drives our unit. This is a busy role with varying demands, so building an effective rapport with colleagues and being ready to take their guidance and offer your support will be really important.
  • Our maternity unit is committed to offering the best possible care to our service users and their families, and this requires dedication from all our staff, and this role will be no exception.

Main duties of the job

We will expect you to share our passion for achieving excellence in the care of our patients. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the general cleanliness and tidiness of the unit, which includes actioning any issues detected during Trust audits.  You will ensure all equipment is clean, ready for use and maintained. You will also be responsible for ensuring all stocks and supplies are stored correctly, and levels are monitored and maintained.

If you have the experience and qualities we are looking for, we would love to hear from you!
