Housekeepers help make sure that hospital wards and other settings are clean, safe and attractive places for patients and staff.
As a Housekeeper you will lead ward services, such as catering, cleaning, equipment and supplies. The work can include talking to and reassuring patients, ordering ward stock, whilst keeping the ward clean and tidy. The serving and clearing away of meals is part of this role, along with preparing snacks and drinks. Reporting faults and undertaking clerical and administration tasks are also an essential part of the role.

They also need to work as part of a team, be friendly and caring, understanding of patient’s needs, able to take responsibility for their own work, have health and safety awareness, be flexible/adaptable and able to follow instructions and procedures.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.
- Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
- Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
- Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.
