Cromer Hospital has the opportunity to employ a housekeeper for the out-patients and day procedure unit.
We are looking to appoint someone for 24 hours per week, worked flexibly between Monday and Friday.
This unique role requires a versatile individual to perform a variety of tasks across the clinical areas. This will be a busy role with varying demands being placed on a daily basis.

- Assist with cleaning of equipment & quality testing of specialized equipment
- Check emergency equipment is available
- Ensure adequate stocks of items are in areas as required
- Put supplies away in storage areas
- Keep all storage areas clean & neat & promote a safe working environment

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a working rapport with therapists, therapy assistants and administration colleagues
- Help with cleaning and maintaining tidiness in all areas. Inadequate or missed cleaning should be reported to 3333 to assist with C4C Audit Compliance. Job numbers should be recorded to ensure job completion can be verified
- Change linen on therapy beds as per department policy and ensure a supply of blue roll is available for use with plinths, avoiding any disruption to the service
- Clean therapy equipment (splint pans, gym equipment and trollies) as per required schedule and update cleaning record. Visibly check equipment where appropriate and ensure it is in safe working order as per departmental policy, highlighting any problems to Operational / Integrated Therapy leads, avoiding any disruption to the service
- Monitor wax bath usage and replace wax as needed, highlighting low wax stock levels to therapy assistant staff for re-ordering
- Monitor stock levels of patient information leaflets in leaflet racks within outpatient therapy area and re-order as necessary
- To be responsible for the maintenance of OT equipment at department level as directed, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and ensuring equipment is retrieved and returned as necessary.
- Check oxygen is working correctly where present within OT and ensure portable oxygen cylinders are full
- Ensure adequate stocks of items are in specified areas as required, and move equipment from the stores to these areas with reference to manual handling and health & safety policies and procedures. Maintain an up-to-date stock list of all equipment stored in satellite areas to ensure the correct stock levels are maintained and to assist with equipment orders
- Provide bi-weekly list of current stock levels for use when reordering OT equipment and assist with annual stocktakes as required.
