Job overview

A job opportunity has arisen for 1 X 16hr candidates to join part of our busy Hotel Services Team on Site at  Prince Charles Hospital.

A 16 hour position will support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering Catering  and Housekeeping services to the National Standards for these services in NHS Wales,  HIW standard 5 and 9 and Organisational Standards.

To assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices; and helping to maintain open, effective communication.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to work within a restaurant & patient environment and previous experience would be an asset but not essential.

The main duties of the post include the delivery of Catering restaurant service within the Hospital in accordance with departmental schedules and specifications and in line with the Nutritional Standards also  in the event of service pressure and according to the Job Description requirements of this role successful candidates may  be required to perform patient feeding & cleaning duties.

Flexibility is essential and the successful candidate  will be expected to adapt to service pressures and modernization.

The successful candidate would need to be flexible with regard to movement throughout all Health Board sites.

The successful candidate must observe and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, courtesy and consideration to all patients and fellow employees.

This post is monthly paid.

This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
