Maternity services at Saint Mary's Managed Clinical Service provide women living in Manchester, Trafford, Salford, the North West and beyond with primary, secondary and tertiary obstetric services. Saint Mary's is renowned both regionally and nationally for its research, clinical fetal and maternal medicine services. Saint Mary's has a very varied and complex patient population.

Leading the Saint Mary's Specialist Community Homebirth Team is a fantastic opportunity to shape and provide a high-quality, patient-centred service for families across Manchester.
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion and determination to support the senior midwifery team in line with the exciting national picture of care and compassion, as well as a local picture of quality improvement. The successful candidate will need good knowledge and skill base of both midwifery clinical practice and local leadership.
In this role you will manage a team of midwives and develop practice as a midwifery expert; providing advice to colleagues in the organisation and work with a range of other agencies. You will work closely with the Matrons and Lead Midwives. You will be resilient and able to manage complex situations as well as being well organised and innovative. A proven track record of supporting change processes, coupled with good influencing and negotiation skills are key attributes required for this post in order to provide an integrated and effective service.
