The number of women choosing to have their babies at home in Kingston is presently 2.8% of births.  The National average is 1.9%.  We support personalised care planning.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 midwife who is passionate about physiological birth to help lead our well-established homebirth team.

We are looking for an inspirational and dedicated leader to continue supporting the growth of the Homebirth Team and to:

  • Provide expert knowledge in the physiological birth and ensure practice is evidence based
  • Be visible, credible and confident in all areas

Kingston Maternity is a popular service with approximately 5000 births per annum.  Findings from the Care Quality Commission’s National Maternity Survey 2022 have recently been released, placing Kingston Hospital’s maternity service as one of the top performing maternity services in London.  The Care Quality Commission rated Kingston Hospital’s Maternity Service as ‘good’ in 2024 and the Trust ‘outstanding’ in 2019, with staff positive about the hospital and the services they were able to offer women and their families. Leadership is strong and well respected and there is a culture of learning and a desire to improve the service.
