
We currently have a vacancy for a carer to support a child /young person in their own home.
Care is required after school for 3 days per week 16:00- 20:00, and during school holidays, hours to be confirmed.
The vacancy is for 14 hours per week, with hours being spread over the year, working more hours during the school holiday period.
As a Home Support Worker, you will be delivering care to child /young people within the home environment. This involves being trained to competently deliver specialist care procedures dependant on individual needs.

This is a fixed term post due to time limited nature of the Funding which will end in 18 months. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.

The main duties of the role will include -
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in the assessment and care of children with complex nursing needs.
To communicate at an appropriate level for individual children, young people and their carers.
Undertake nursing duties, as agreed with the Orchard Service who are responsible for the child/ young person.
To understand individual plans of care to ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of a change in condition or problem occurring.
Assist with the personal care and comfort of the child and to always maintain the childs dignity and privacy, including manual handling when necessary.
Assist in maintaining a safe environment for the child, family/carers and staff, including safe use of equipment, reporting any malfunctions urgently.
