Job summary

Main duties of the job

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in the assessment and care of children with complex nursing needs.

To communicate at an appropriate level for individual children, young people and their carers

Undertake nursing duties, as agreed with the Orchard Service who are responsible for the child/ young person. This may include ventilation, tracheostomy, enteral feeding etc.

To understand individual plans of care to ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of a change in condition or problem occurring.

Assist with the personal care and comfort of the child and to maintain the childs dignity and privacy at all times, including manual handling when necessary.

Assist in maintaining a safe environment for the child, family/carers and staff, including safe use of equipment, reporting any malfunctions urgently.
