An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, well organised individual to join our highly skilled Histopathology team. The post will be based in the Histopathology Department. The Pathology team at Harrogate is highly regarded having an excellent reputation with service users. The team at Harrogate is small and friendly requiring a high degree of team work and co-operation from its members so candidates should be prepared to be part of the close knit environment fostered in the department.

The role would suit individuals with a high degree of time management, good IT skills, an awareness of quality management systems and experience of audit training would be beneficial.

Main duties of the job

• f   The main duties include:
• To perform departmental audits and raise any non-conformances via the QMS
• To assist in the preparation of the quality report for the Quality and Governance meeting.
• To generate outstanding work lists and manage samples referred to external laboratories.
• Follow departmental policies to ensure maintenance of quality standards.
• Monitor the audit schedule and work with the Section Manager and Quality Lead to plan the audit schedule
• Data entry for trend analysis, assist the Section Lead to identify trends
• Data entry of EQA results and documenting any non-conformances on the QMS. For a full list of duties, please refer to the job description.

Harrogate District Hospital Laboratory is part of the Integrated Pathology Solutions Microbiology team.  Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP is an innovative joint-venture pathology service between Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership delivers a high quality pathology service through collaboration between three Trusts for the benefit of patient and service users but the successful candidate will be employed directly by the NHS as a Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust employee.
