We are looking for a Highly Specialist Pharmacist to work within the Red Cell team at North Middlesex university hospital, the post holder will be part of the ED Bypass unit pilot working to development, implementation and review all clinically focused pharmaceutical services to the sickle cell ED Bypass unit and adult haemoglobinopathy out, daycase, ED and inpatients under the care of NMUH.
Main duties of the job
JOB SUMMARY: Specialist Pharmacist – Haemoglobinopathies /Haematology day unit
Is responsible for the development, implementation and review of clinically focused pharmaceutical services to the sickle cell Haematology day unit and adult haemoglobinopathy out, daycase, ED and inpatients under the care of NMUH.
- Is responsible for the NMUH components of the set-up, implementation and ongoing provision of the Sickle Cell Community pharmacist referral scheme working with the NCL Red Cell Community Pharmacist.
- Is responsible for identification, collation and presentation of NMUH clinical pharmacy related KPIs in relation to the ED Bypass Unit pilot project and the Sickle Cell Community pharmacist referral scheme.
- Is responsible for providing a comprehensive day to day highly specialist clinical pharmacy service to Haemoglobinopathy patients and the multidisciplinary team.
- Is responsible for providing highly specialist clinical pharmacist advice and support to the wider pharmacy team in the areas of sickle cell and thalassaemia in conjunction with the rotational specialist pharmacist working on the red cell home ward and home care for iron chelation agents.
