Job overview

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Optometrist to join our dynamic team of 10 Ophthalmic technicians, 7 Orthoptists and an Optometrist. The Orthoptic department works closely with the Eye Department which currently has 11 Consultants including specialist in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility.

The successful candidate will be involved in the Specialist Contact Lens Service, working closely with the Corneal Ophthalmologist.  They will also be involved in routine paediatric refractions where necessary. For all informal enquires please contact Pam Grewal, Optical Services Manager.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for assessing patients referred to the Ophthalmology department who require contact lenses. Liaising as necessary with the Consultant Ophthalmologist when prescribing appropriate contact lenses. You will also assist with administrative and clerical tasks relating to provision of Optometry services.
