Our inpatient services have undergone significant transformation as part of the "Making Room for Dignity" programme, which has seen our Chesterfield site move into the Derwent Unit, a new, purpose built inpatient unit based on the Chesterfield Royal Hospital site.
The Division of Psychology and Psychological Therapies, alongside the Trust have shown commitment to developing a trauma informed approach as part of this transition and development. We are pleased to be able to recruit into this post offering an opportunity to bring these principles into the new unit.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to take a senior role within the inpatient services. We are looking for a motivated and committed person who understands and enjoys the challenges and opportunities of working with people at times of crisis and where people are often in high levels of distress. We will also consider application from Band 7 Clinical Psychologists, with appropriate experience in acute services, as a development role working towards an 8a. If you are applying for a band 7 post, please make it clear in your supporting evidence which post you are applying for.
We encourage applications from Clinical Psychologists who have experience of working with people with complex difficulties and with people in acute distress. We are looking for someone who will be committed to promoting psychological ideas within a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be working alongside other experienced clinicians and have the opportunity to provide direct clinical work for complex cases and offer advice and consultation to other professionals working within the service. The post holder will also contribute to shaping the vision of the service, i.e. by developing and delivering training to staff, under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist. This role will also enable you to build on audit and research skills, contribute to how the team implements policies and procedures, and contribute to service development. Our service is exploring ways to enhance trauma informed principles within all aspects of service delivery, and this is a great opportunity to play a part in further developments.
The post holder will provide highly specialised psychological input into the wards at the Derwent Unit. Working alongside other psychologists the post holder will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary teams combining direct clinical work with supervision, training, consultation, research and service evaluation/development.
We are looking for a motivated and committed person who understands and enjoys the challenges and opportunities of working with people at times of crisis and where people are often in acute distress. The post holder will have experience of working with people who have a wide range of complex mental health needs and of delivering evidence-based interventions to clients with severe and enduring mental health problems, including people with experience of complex trauma.
We encourage applications from psychologists who are committed to promoting psychological ideas within a multi-disciplinary team and helping other people build on their own psychological mindedness through training, consultation and supervision.
