We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Clinical Physiologist, with significant experience, to join our team.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we open our Community Diagnostic Centre where we  provide both Respiratory and Sleep diagnostics.

Main duties of the job

We are a small and friendly team within the field of both Respiratory and Sleep Physiology. In this role you will work closely with the Respiratory Consultants and Head of department to ensure the smooth running of the Respiratory Physiology service.

You will also support the development of our staff and service by providing regular training and ensuring high standards are maintained. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills to drive the Respiratory Physiology service  into the next phase of the NHS recovery plan.

Your role will also involve supporting the team to ensure provision of the Sleep Service and by participating in sleep study analysis and provision of CPAP therapy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will play a key role in the delivery of the Respiratory Physiology Service at Preston CDC, Royal Preston and Chorley District Hospital with support from the Head of Department. You will play an active role in supporting the day to day running of the sleep and respiratory physiology services. This will involve setting up and analysis of home sleep studies, initiation and follow up of CPAP therapy and performing full lung function tests.

You will also play a key role in quality assurance and training of junior staff.

The successful candidate must be able to perform a full range of respiratory investigations including spirometry, diffusion, plethysmography, bronchial challenge testing, exercise testing and assessment of sleep disorders and be willing to undertake the challenge of developing these services further.

You will be self-motivated, well organised, have excellent interpersonal skills. You must have a flexible attitude and the willingness to travel between sites.
