Salary Scale: Band 3 £26,687 - £33,251 p.a. (£33,247 - £41,424 pro rata)

Working as part of a Family Team to deliver universal child health programmes for school-aged children and young people (5 - 19 years) within school and community settings. We are looking for a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our School Nursing Team within Highland Council, supporting the health and wellbeing of school-aged children across the region.

Working as part of a dynamic and supportive team, you will contribute to the delivery of the Scottish Government School Nursing Pathway, helping to address key public health needs and improve outcomes for children and young people. You will support Specialist Public Health Nurses (School Nurses) to deliver early intervention and targeted care across a range of health and wellbeing concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the Scottish Government School Nursing Pathway
  • Assist in assessing health needs and contributing to the planning and delivery of person-centred care
  • Provide support to children, young people and families with targeted health concerns such as emotional wellbeing, substance use, and risk-taking behaviours
  • Work collaboratively with schools, education staff, and multi-agency partners
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement
  • Promote safeguarding, child protection, and the rights of the child
