Main duties of the job
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care to patients attending Crowborough MIU, Uckfield MIU and Lewes UTC, supporting the nursing and clinical teams in the delivery of urgent care services.
- Assist registered practitioners in the assessment and care of patients by undertaking delegated clinical tasks such as recording vital signs, supporting prescribed treatments, and reporting any changes in a patient’s condition promptly.
- Provide compassionate personal care to patients, including support with hygiene, nutrition and mobility, while promoting independence and maintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to accurate documentation and patient records using the relevant electronic systems.
- Assist with patient flow within the units, including observing patients in waiting areas, supporting the discharge process and ensuring patients and carers are involved in their care.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection prevention and control, health and safety, and Trust policies, and by reporting risks, incidents or concerns appropriately.
- Contribute to team working across all three sites, participating in team meetings, audits and service improvement activities while acting as a positive ambassador for the Trust
